Project Description

Client:   Paragon Creative, York
Location:   London EC2Y 5HN
Year Completed:   2014

This project involved the creation of 3 multi-sectioned Salamanders built to embellish the Museum of London’s iconic rotunda and publicize the exhibition of the Cheapside jewellery Hoard.

Museum Of London, UK

Measuring 10 metres across, these fibreglass reptiles represent a diamond and emerald studded salamander brooch that was found in the City of London 1912 and being for the first time unveiled within the museum.

The Fibreglass Solutions team worked seamlessly with the project’s client allowing us to deliver a comprehensive solution and achieve this eye-catching installation. These striking GRP composite components also lit up at night.

Fibreglass Solutions – It does what it says on the tin!
As a company of creative people, we pride ourselves in solving construction problems and finding original ways of making bespoke objects for clients when no-one else can. Occasionally, we look to specialist sub-contractors to help us achieve our designs and ideas. Fibreglass Solutions are a very professional team of people who will listen to what a client wants and then come up with a solution that fits the bill both creatively and cost effectively. You know when you hand a job to them that they will produce what they promised on time and on budget. Their attention to detail is second to none and they communicate very effectively with their clients during the production phase to make sure that no stone is left unturned in the journey from design to finished product. They are a joy to work with and the results they achieve are stunning. I really enjoy working with them and look forward to the next time.
